ABOUT

My name is Jake Marketo, and I’m a former NRL player for the St George Illawarra Dragons. Rugby league has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It runs in the family. My dad, Michael Marketo, played for the Balmain Tigers back in the 1980s which was unreal to know growing up. Once I began to understand the game its all I’ve ever wanted to do and be apart of.

I was born in Wollongong but have spent a large part of my life on the Sunshine Coast, which I now proudly call home. After years of playing at the highest level, I’ve shifted my focus to something I’m just as passionate about… mentoring.

I started Marketo Mentoring to share the side of rugby league that doesn’t always get taught. The mindset, the discipline, the decision-making under pressure on and off the field through my footy experiences and life lessons. The things that make you a great player and most importantly great person. My goal is to pass on not just what I know, but how I think, so young athletes can step up and take control of their journey.

This program is about putting the work in both physically and mentally through drills and repetition. It’s about building footy smarts, mental toughness, and self-belief. The stuff that separates talent from success.
